In the 32nd Triveni Cup football event, which was played at Lamjung, the departmental team APF Football Club emerged victorious.
APF won the title on Saturday at the Triveni Rangshala Sahaji Khel Ground in Benisahar after defeating Buddha Yuva Club (BYC) Bhoteodar Lamjung in a tiebreaker. Three times previously, BYC had won the title.In the first 12 minutes of the first half, BYC's goal was scored by Sameer Tamang. Yuvraj Khadka of APF equalized the score in the 30th minute of the first half.
Six minutes into the second half, APF captain Hari Karki scored. The match was drawn after Bhoteodar's Samirraj Thakuri scored a goal in the fifth minute of the eight-minute injury time. The game went to a tiebreaker after 15 more minutes with no goals from either team. Angel Shrestha, the goalie for APF, was named the game's man of the match and was given 10,000 rupees in cash.
The Triveni cup, medal, certificate, and 12 lakh rupees were awarded to the victorious APF. The runner-up, Bhoteodar, accepted 6 lakh rupees. APF's Pradeep Lama won the title of top scorer, a trophy, and a cash award of Rs. 25,000 for scoring six goals during the competition. Emmanuel, a foreign player from Bhoteodar, received a trophy and twenty-five thousand rupees after being named the best player.
The victors received prizes from Benisahar Municipality Chief Gumansingh Aryal, Gandaki Province Forest and Environment Minister Bhesh Bahadur Paudel, Gandaki Province Chief Minister Surendraraj Pandey, organizer Triveni Youth Club President Rajkumar Ghimire, and others. Beginning on January 12, 16 teams competed in the 32nd Triveni Cup, which was hosted by the Triveni Youth Club Benisahar.
